Mariam, a Bedouin woman, grew up in an unrecognized village in the Negev with her brother Rian, near a sycamore tree their father, Musa, considered a symbol of identity and resilience. Their lives are interrupted when authorities arrive with a demolition order, leaving Mariam traumatized.
In the present, Mariam returns to the ruins, walking through the scattered remnants of her former home. She reaches the now-uprooted tree and touches it.
The film poignantly captures the ache of displacement, as Mariam confronts the profound void left by her lost home and shattered family ties through a haunting return to the ruins.
